Mr. Richard J Casinelli

Chief Financial Officer

Richard J. Casinelli is a results-driven financial leader with more than 30 years of hands-on experience in public accounting, auditing, financial management, and strategic advisory services.

Before joining Side Equity, he founded MHC Advisors. As Managing Partner of MHC Advisors, P.C. in Troy, Michigan since 1995, he oversees a nine-person, peer-reviewed CPA firm (100% pass rate for over 20 continuous years) that delivers comprehensive accounting, assurance, tax, and management advisory solutions to small and mid-sized companies with combined revenues exceeding $100 million.

His clients span industrial, retail, service, real estate, non-profit, governmental, and securities industries.

Richard takes a proactive, big-picture approach to helping business owners navigate complex challenges. He has personally led the full spectrum of client engagements—from routine compliance and internal-control implementation to high-stakes strategic decisions, turnarounds, due diligence, business valuations, forensic accounting, and litigation support.

In parallel, he has served as Chief Financial Officer for multiple organizations, including Axis Technology Group, Inc. (2022–present), Equity Search, Inc. (2002–present), and AMI Manchester (2014–2016), where he managed financial reporting, cash flow, inventory, and projections for a $30 million operation and played a key role in its successful sale at 7× EBITDA.

Earlier in his career, Richard founded Casinelli & Company, P.C. from the ground up, growing it into a five-person practice serving businesses ranging from $300,000 to $30 million in annual sales. His foundation was built at prominent firms including Main Hurdman (predecessor to KPMG), George Johnson & Company, and Detroit Mortgage and Realty Company, where he performed audits, prepared financial statements and tax returns, and advanced rapidly to Controller.

A Certified Public Accountant licensed in Michigan and South Carolina, Richard also holds the designations CGMA, MST, CFE, and ABV. He earned a Bachelor of Accountancy from Walsh College of Accountancy and Business Administration (1982, with distinction) and has completed extensive postgraduate coursework toward a Master’s in Taxation. He is an accomplished lecturer and publisher of seminars on tax and estate planning, remains active in professional organizations (AICPA, MACPA, American Society of Forensic Accountants), and serves on Walsh College alumni committees.

Known for his strategic vision, team-building skills, and ability to deliver under pressure, Richard continues to guide business owners and executives toward sustainable growth, profitability, and long-term success.
